« on: 08/07/17, 08:39:59 PM »
Since all of you lovelies are the masters of decorating, I was wondering if anyone knows which deco this, and where it comes from:

Planet holo?

Any ideas?

Cantina / Star Wars Curse Words?
« on: 07/01/17, 03:11:58 PM »
Got into an interesting chat in Gen on Coruscant today, and someone was asking if there are any "canon" curse-words in the SW universe? I can only remember a few from the movies and "Rebels", and the Google-Fu brought up a few pages with listings, but are there any that you've all developed that you use on a regular basis?

THE COMMUNITY PROFANITY DICTIONARY (because we all can't say nice things all the time...)

  • Bantha Poodoo - primarily used to insult the way an individual smells
  • Chuba (sometimes spelled chubba) - the Huttese word for "you" or "your." When used as an expletive, however, it can express surprise ("What the chubba is that?") or imply that someone is untrustworthy.
  • Crink/crinking - a common swear for pirates in the Outer Rim
  • Druk - an alien word for excrement
  • E chu ta - a Huttese expletive with undefined meaning
  • Farkled - an adjectival F-word euphemism
  • Frizz/frizzled - a common swear among smugglers in the Old Republic
  • Hutt-spawn - an insulting phrase for everyone except Hutts
  • Kriff - Canon equivalent of the F-word
  • Laserbrain - suggests that someone is stupid, crazy, or delusional
  • Nerf-Herder - a general insult used to mock an individual's appearance and/or profession
  • Schutta - Twi-lek word for "slut"
  • Sculag - a Chiss term referring to someone who is weak-minded
  • Shebs - a Mandalorian swear meaning "buttocks."
  • Sithspawn- Insult in non-Imperial space
  • Sithspit- used to express surprise, anger, or other strong emotions
  • Sleemo - a Huttese insult which sounds like its English equivalent, "slimeball."
  • Stoopa - a Huttese noun for a foolish or stupid person

Not sure how many of you watch the Dev Tracker on the SWTOR forums, but two weeks from today, 5.3 will be released. Which includes the Manaan stronghold...

Cantina / Post-Sacking Naval Battles?
« on: 06/26/17, 10:38:15 AM »
Good morning all you wonderful BCers...

So I've been working on pulling the head-canon out of my head and updating my Holonet entries for Alexandra, Meagan and Medley, but I've hit a bit of a rutt.

Does anyone remember any large-scale naval battles that happened after the Sacking of Coruscant? These would've been in the class-story phase of the game, which I haven't done in quite awhile. I vaguely remember a few story missions that were, "invade X ship, kill Y Imperial enemy" but don't remember if there were any fleet-on-fleet battles?

If not I'll just make one up :P

Storyboards / Port of Call

((OOC: Need to kind of explain the reactions of Meagan and Medley to tonight's event, so I thought I'd take a crack at doing it all writing-ly :) Such an amazing event, but I had to stay true to character and unfortunately leave early...more backstory on the following is in Medley's Holonet entry ( And apologies for paraphrasing the dialogue...))

"Lot #1249. Just ‘cuz we’ve got a few lots today with these amazing weapons in them doesn’t make them any less rare or remarkable, folks! This lot of three Jedi lightsabers are still an amazing catch. How do we know they’re JEDI lightsabers? Well, these three come with helmet cam footage shot by the team that risked sneaking past a CSF patrol to pick through the ruins of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant itself! Cracked right out of the memorial vaults! We’re looking at three lightsabers in pristine conditions, folks. Bidding starts at 40,000 credits." The Auctioneer bellowed.

As she listened to the words echo throughout the market of the ship, Meagan, standing amidst a crowd of thieves, smugglers, scoundrels and general outcasts, knew she had been anticipating her first visit to Phalanx Station to be eventful. She knew the auction would perhaps be quirky, unique, and on the border of legality.

But not like that. Not like that.

Upon hearing of the auctioning of lightsabers from those who had died protecting the Temple during the Sacking of Coruscant, she heard a voice echo in her mind, a voice she had struggled to silence:

My love will forever sing through your souls.

Meagan's hands closed around the grips of her blasters, her thumbs flipping the safeties to a position far from safe.

How could they... She thought. Meagan struggled to focus on the Auctioneer and the crowd, as her eyes began to moisten, then flow, with tears. As the first trickle drained down her cheeks, she relaxed her grip on the blasters and ran from the room, into the lift that led to the hangar bay.

The lift doors opened, and Meagan saw her younger sister sitting on the floor of the hangar, underneath her damaged Pike, staring upwards at the engine compartment. A Free Spacers Fleet repair tug was positioned just outside on the force-field, while an intership shuttle was parked nearby.

"Medley?" Meagan forced the two syllables from her throat through matching sobs. She collapsed to her knees.

In the blink of an eye, Medley leaped across the twenty-yard gap between her and Meagan, and cupped both sides of Meagan's head in her hands. Meagan leaned against her, sobbing heavily, and Medley could feel the source of the pain consuming her sister.

"They have lightsabers. From those who fell." Medley whispered. She lifted Meagan to her feet, and pointed her towards the Free Spacers shuttle. "Go."

Meagan wiped her cheeks with the sleeves of her coat, and looked up as Medley began walking towards the lift. "Where are you going?" she asked.

Medley said nothing, but stalked towards the lift and rode it up to the market level. Upon emerging, she studied the crowd, her eyes fixed on the Auctioneer.

She drew her lightsabers, their blades reflecting violet light off of the polished metal of the ship's floor and walls, and advanced on the crowd...

Cantina / Don't Mess with the Ladies!
« on: 06/21/17, 02:44:54 PM »
While Uprising night didn't happen last night, we still got an incredible (and terribly frightening) group to make a whole lotta messes in Flashpoints. Screenshot of the four of us attached.

From left to right: Medley, @Niarra (on Zrrehani), @Imazi and @Sihara_Khaleesi (the very scary and smashy Ar'anna).

Cantina / 228 Augments for Free!
« on: 06/17/17, 06:38:55 AM »
Medley went on a bit of a bender a few weeks back making 228 alacrity and crit augments, and all four of my characters are equipped with them. I have a bunch left over, so if anyone wants them, just let me know!

I don't have any spare MK-10 kits though...those are a pain in the butt to make.

Cantina / New PC = Like Playing a New Game
« on: 06/16/17, 10:31:04 AM »
I just wanted to post this since I'm a very happy girl right now...

I've been playing SWTOR on a budget laptop (a Lenovo 14D) for like the last two years, and have only ever been able to run it with all of the graphics on the lowest settings. It would seriously take like 15-20 seconds to load planets like Hoth or Belsavis, and GSF, whenever I traveled. I could never do warzones or ops, because the wizzy-flashy things were just too intense.

But last night I picked up a used gaming PC, and holy...I can run the game at max graphics, and not only is it spectacularly beautiful, it is seriously like playing a new game. I've only been to Nar Shaddaa, played the Coruscant heroics and Chapter 2 of KotFE, but it is just nuts how different everything looks and feels.

So with that said, I actually have a purpose to this thread! I have never, ever, done an Op. Ever. But I would love to try, since I've been missing a *huge* part of the game up until this point. So if any of you have an Op group going in the near future, and don't mind a newbie tagging along, sign me up :) I won't be around much on Saturday because I'm doing Father's Day stuff with the parents, but will be around all day/evening Sunday.

Holocrons and Info Nodes / The Daughters of Ela
« on: 06/14/17, 06:45:27 AM »
In case no one has noticed, I absolutely *love* the stories you all post. There are so many beautiful writers in this community that it's a little intimidating for me to actually share mine.

I'm probably going to be slow to post updates, simply because I actually struggle to translate the stories in my head-canon onto the page. But this thread will be the origin story of the Daughters of Ela - Alexandra, Meagan, and Medley. And it starts during the Great Galactic War, in 3665 BBY, or 12 BTC, during the battle over Hoth...

Cantina / Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event - Ultimate Guide!
« on: 06/13/17, 05:36:07 AM »
Hi folks,

I'm so excited about the Nightlife event :) Even though I started SWTOR a week after launch, I've generally never been subbed during the summers and have missed all of them. But I'm here now, and thanks to the wonderful folks on Reddit, I'm equipped to conquer it:

Changes to the Nar Shaddaa casino event (5.2.2)

I have my outfits all picked out, and I hope to see many of you there :)

Introductions / ((OOC)) The Elariels have Stopped Lurking...
« on: 05/28/17, 01:56:16 PM »
Hiya BC!

Full confession: I've been lurking on this forum for quite awhile...and you've probably seen many iterations of me in /republicooc or /gsf, as well as at a few weekly events that run. Mostly at Ke's Tatooine paradise. Because, as I said a few weeks ago, it should be canon. I'm still working on my email to Pablo.

In any case, I am the Elariel sisters:
  • Alexandra, a stubborn, play-by-the-book Sage who is primarily a physician
  • Meagan, a pilot who trades illicit smuggled medical supplies to the Jedi Council, so that she can use the starship repair bays for her Pike, and also so that she can visit her sister...
  • Medley, someone who is banned from Coruscant for cutting a Senator's desk in half as a result of a dispute over Belsavis. And who once crashed her Rampart into the Senate Tower. And who sees the world very differently from most.

They are the Daughters of Ela.

I also have two padawans: Sariyah, a Togruta shadow who is Medley's student, and Consonance, who *was* Alexandra's student but...well, I'll share that story one day :)

Imp side, for head-canon and story reasons, I have Aubrey Anna, a very bugged agent who can't complete story quests because my laptop hardware apparently breaks the conversations (no word of a lie...that what's customer service told me...) and Maladous, an evil Sith diplomat who is Alexandra's rival.

So after so much lurking, and driving as many RPers to this place as I could, I figured it was time register. I'm still working on my origin story for the sisters, and hope to post at least the first part soon.

See you all in game!
