The dataminers have retrieved a little nugget that suggests the Chiss planet Copero may make an appearance in some form in the game, perhaps as early as Game Update 5.6.

Please keep in mind such datamining information is subject to change.

Some highlights about the Chiss world of Copero include:

   * located in the Chiss Ascendancy (Chiss space) just south of Sarvchi along the Path of the Houses,
   * homeworld of the Mithh family,
   * perhaps most notable for being the site of the Chiss Ascendancy's largest shipyard.

This oughta be interesting if this pans out to be what we've been told. If they do decide to bring the Chiss Ascendancy into the mainstream story of TOR, lets hope they do it right.

We'd damn well better.
Circled tomb of a different age
Secret lines carved on ancient stone
Heroic kings laid down to rest
Forgotten is the race that no one knows

I really hope this will actually be a thing. The Chiss, though so pivotal to the Sith Empire's existence, have been put on the back-burner for too long. I mean if we get this, it'll be perfect for my character and House Shol, because the Shol Estate is on Sarvchi. I can finally get him involved in this Alliance mess.

Current datamining information from Jedipedia on the games's current PTS version has some interesting items on it.  Several NPCs are listed as apparently scheduled to make a prospective appearance at the Alliance base on Odessen, possibly associated with something having to do with Zildrog (Heralds?).  Some of the NPC names are of characters we've been dealing with a lot in the latest expansion like Lana Beniko, Indo Zal and Hylo Visz.  Names of several new NPCs we've never heard before make an appearance as well.  It's unclear if these NPCs will be making an appearance as part of an upcoming Flashpoint, Companion mission, or some other appearance (that is, if they end up making an appearance at all).

The most significant name that appears on the list (the reason I wanted to share this info), is that of Darth Mortis.  Many Imperial-character players will recall Darth Mortis as a member of the Sith Empire's Dark Council, where he helmed the Sphere of Laws and Justice.  Mortis has made three appearances in the game thus far:

     * At the end of the Sith Warrior class story, Mortis witnesses the battle between the Emperor's Wrath and Darth Baras, who pretended to the position of Voice of the Emperor.  With the rest of the Council, Mortis acknowledged Baras' treason and formally recognized the new Wrath.
     * Shortly after, in the Sith Inquisitor class story, Mortis and the Council observed the final battle between Lord Kallig and Darth Thanaton, head of the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge.  Mortis' role here was much more significant.  After Thanaton was defeated by Kallig, Mortis Force-snapped Thanaton's neck, delivering the killing blow.
     * In the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion, Mortis appears to all Imperial player characters as part of the Macrobinocular mission story.  In that story, the Shroud is mobilizing his network to launch devastating attacks against Galactic City on Coruscant and Kaas City on Dromund Kaas.  Evie Bo, one of the Shroud's lieutenants, defects to the Empire and informs them of the scheme.  Darth Mortis spearheads the Imperial response, and mobilizes Imperial heroes (the player's character) to try and prevent the attack.

A potential return of another Dark Council member would be very significant to SWTOR's story right now.  In KotFE, Lana Beniko tells the player character that all members of the Dark Council either died fighting the Eternal Empire, or fled and have not been heard of (the exceptions being Acina, who ascended as the new Empress of the Sith, and Darth Vowrawn, who maintained his position as Minister of Production and Logistics).  A reappearance by Mortis would mark the first time a missing Dark Council member has resurfaced since the Zakuulan occupation.

The first major thing to watch for here is: Will the Darth Mortis character be reintroduced back into the game?  If he is, we can speculate as to what role he will fulfill in the game's story.

     * Like Vowrawn, has Mortis actually been around all along and fulfilled some role in the Empire like he previously had on the Dark Council?

     * Did Mortis flee from the galactic stage when Zakuul invaded? Has he returned to oppose Acina's rule with Alliance assistance, or fill the vacancy left by her death (player choice dependent)?

     * Is he associated with this new shadowy group seeking to destroy the Alliance Commander and the Eternal Alliance?

I think it makes plenty of sense for Mortis to reappear. Earlier this year I speculated that Mortis was one of the Dark Councilors most likely to flee the Eternal Empire, perhaps successfully going into hiding.  I based that assessment on a comment by Evie Bo in the Imperial macrobinocular story, when she offered her concern that Mortis might flee Dromund Kaas if the Shroud's attack could not be prevented and seek to take advantage of the chaos (including the potential deaths of other Dark Councilors).

It will be interesting to see if this character returns to us.

Darth Mortis is this guy for anyone too lazy to go to a link. He's been witness to a lot of extremely entertaining mortifying stuff.

The fact that he's coming back to snap some bitch sith's neck in half like a twig presumably do something related to the current galactic situation is neat. He was always one of my favourites.

A lot of datamined info on Game Update 5.6 has been released.  You can find the full list of new info here on Jedipedia.  This information is especially relevant to players who principally RP Chiss toons.

ABILITIES

* Adegan Crystal Powered Shot.  Might make an appearance in the FP, suggesting that the Umbaran crystals will reappear in the story.

* Ascendancy Clawcraft.  This looks like the name of an upcoming mount.

* Copero Jubilee Miniprobe.  Looks like an upcoming pet.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Looking over the potential new achievements, it seems the Copero FP will have four boss fights.

* Bane of Inrokini.  Defeat 100 Inrokini Chiss enemies in any difficulty mode in the "A Traitor Among the Chiss" flashpoint.

It looks like there are several achievements for about three bonus missions in the FP.

CODEX ENTRIES

!!!IF NOTHING ELSE, MAKE SURE YOU READ THESE!!!

* Force-Sensitive Chiss

* The Chiss Ascendancy and the Eternal Empire.  This gives an adequate overview of what's been going on with the Chiss for the last IC six years.

* Aristocra Saganu

At the same time, she used the Ascendancy's resources to track down her former mentor."  (CALLED IT!!!)

NPCs

You can go down the list yourselves, but clearly, we're going to be fight a lot of House Inrokini members.

UPDATE:

Jedipedia threw up this post on Reddit with additional information.

They also put this one up that walks you through the Copero FP story.  (MAJOR SPOILERS!)

If you realign the galaxy map Theron Shan is viewing at the end of the 'A Traitor Among the Chiss' FP to match your galaxy map and look at where the highlighted planetary system sits on the map ... the closest planet we've been to near that location is ... Oricon.

He's a disappointment trandoshan, the final boss of Explosive Conflict. You kill him, but he comes back in Terror From Beyond. You kill him a second time, but clones of him appear in Dread Fortress again. You kill him there too, but we all know he hasn't made his final appearance yet.
