Star Wars Remixes!

I was listening to a couple fun remixes on Youtube and thought, what the hell, I'll share them and also get other people to share their favorites as well!

Post your favorite Star Wars covers, remixes, and fan-songs here. Here's my some of my (long list of) picks:

Across the Stars

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYxxqKZhcK4

This is a gorgeous Classical-style violin and guitar duet that is hauntingly beautiful. I could listen to this for days.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfwpiNpbVpw

Incredible pro violin solo giving it a more Baroque feeling than it already has. Feels like Vivaldi does Star Wars in places.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qmG-UxR82k

Galactic Empire's rock cover of Across the Stars. I'm not as big a fan of them as some fans, but this one is my favorite of their songs.

Duel of the Fates

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EAzgAx0KHM

A techno remix that is annoyingly catchy and transforms the song in a great way. I feel like this is what Dromund Kaas dance clubs play.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sskr--f66ZI

This is almost too close to the original to not count as a remix... but I like the addition of dramatic drumming, so it goes here.

Force Theme/Binary Sunset

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY5WE66YKcU

The unchallenged best song on this list, at least to my mind. It's an electronic remix that is just so, so, so good.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cdhe_6KfHBI

A cool surprise find that I kind of love. It's a bagpipe dubstep cover. Yes, you read that right. Bagpipe dubstep.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSe-oOPnZs0

I... don't know how to describe this. Simultaneously soothes and sets my teeth on edge. Also incorporates the Victory Theme, which is pretty unique!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMEqozMdslE

A break from electronic music, at last. A lovely, jazzy flute and piano duet.

Rey's Theme

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNsfLn5PSJ0

One of the best and prettiest 1-man-band orchestras I've heard in a while. And just a gorgeous cover in general. Also includes the Force Theme.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NngZjgq-97k

Rey's Theme in the style of a spaghetti western. Yes. Spaghetti western. It's so good. Please listen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpBeqRicc44

Jyn and Rey's themes mashed up together, so not strictly a remix or cover. The two fit together perfectly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-1wy5qOoBY

A metal cover. I don't usually like solo metal covers because... well, they aren't usually good. This one is nice though!

Mando Stuff

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrI21TOT884

This is another mashup of two Republic Commando themes, not a cover or remix. Creates something very mournful and very beautiful.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhktGZ0eX10

A totally new fan creation! I love this song quite a bit and have it in the playlist I listen to while focusing on Mando RP.

I love metal covers and i'm not really a remix person so that's probably all i'm ever going to post here!

I quite like this metal cover of SWTOR's main theme! I always thought the KOTOR theme would be good to make a metal cover of too but i've only found one before and it's not great. :/

Clash of Destiny: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZi7uD8JyX0

There is also a metal cover of the Imperial Suite from Rogue One and I love it. If I had to pick a theme song for my entire legacy, this would probably be it lol.

Imperial Suite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHuFMTBRr4g

There was also that one time when the United States Marine Band did Star Wars. They didn't really change the music so much, but it's still technically a cover and a neat one at that. :P

March of the Resistance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96xjFY4iTTs
Rey's Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA3CCwi2Bjw
Scherzo for X-Wings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkHkorJWR6s
Jedi Steps and Finale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJj5Hx_1S4Y

Also bagpipe dubstep is officially my favourite thing now.

Right??? She has a bunch of Eluveitie covers too, plus some more movie covers. I think she's my new favorite musician.

I'm normally terrible at having stuff to share on these sorts of posts, but as a SW tabletop GM with a passion for mood setting, SW music tracks (and remixes) are something I have spent a lot of time with (going so far as to mix audio tracks of my own with actors, droid noises, music, etc), so I actually have something I can contribute here!

First off, something not-silly and just genuinely beautiful: This solo cello Star Wars medley by Nicholas Yee

And now that that has been offered, if you're not interested in Star Wars cantina music, just skip the rest of this post.

First in the offerings of cantina music, and meant primarily as a handy GM tool, here's this straight up compilation of cantina music found specifically in SW video games (so neither of the John Williams tracks).

Plucked out of that compilation, for those who want to stick to the feel of the classic John Williams cantina tracks but may not have remembered this particular gem from KOTOR II, here's the "Iziz Cantina" track from KOTORII.

And if you like the Iziz track, you absolutely do not want to skip this brilliant remix of that track.

Mos Eisley Cantina Band Remixes

From here on out, we've got all remixes of the one classic. To listen to all of these you probably have to just really, really love this track, or really love remixes, otherwise you might go completely insane. Either that, or you're a GM looking for innumerable variations on this track to mood set for all the shades of cantina in the galaxy (because no matter what kind of cantina, it obviously only plays the one song).

First, I'll start with the ones that are actually very unique, and acoustic in nature. Some of these might not be totally appropriate as background campaign music, but they're worth a listen for entertainment value just because they're so different.

Cantina Band Bluegrass. One man. One banjo, two guitars, one bass. A delightful arrangement.

Cumbia Cantina. If you don't know what style of music cumbia is... uh, look it up after giving this a listen. But if you want to put on your Latin dance shoes, listen to this one. This is a wonderful interpretation, mostly for laughs and jiving your way through house cleaning.

Cantina Band Acapella. Kudos to the guy on his hats and glazed expression. Even if he cheated on the chimes and drums.

Cantina Band Jazz Edition. Pretty much just what the title suggests. Acoustic jazz band arrangement. This one is not too dissimilar from the original, just a little different in feel.

And now on to the electronic remixes!

Although everyone's interpretation of what music "feels" like is very different, I'll just go ahead and add a Mood tag to each of these, representing what at least I felt the remix was suited for (in terms of the type of club/cantina players would be in, and the tone I wanted to be setting for it).

That Same Old Song. I call this a classic remix just because I've been aware of it forever, and lots of other people have remixed this remix. Mood: Urban, but not too seedy; think upper levels Coruscant where you can party without too much danger.

That Same Old Song - Remix! Remix of a remix! Mood: Same general mood as the original, but just a little bit more strongly dance club in feel.

Cantina Band Tyron Hapi Bootleg.  Mood: Dance or jazz club feel. Flashy lights and more glitter among the clientele.

Cantina Band Wirkstoff Remix.  Mood: More of a background for a bar/drinking/deal-making scene, in a cantina that might straddle the line between midtown and seedy.

Cantina Band Eugene the Cat Remix.  Mood: A little more funky in feel. Not too seedy, but not some glittery rave scene either. You could dance to it if you wanted, but it works a little better as background for the other activity happening in the cantina.

Cantina Song MC Royale Mix  Mood: Getting into the smokier and more dimly lit nightclubs. More bass, slower swing. Definitely better background music. Good for gambles, deals, and maybe some inappropriate dancing in the corner.

Cantina Band Beaterie Electro Swing Remix   Mood: A blend of club styles, this one can work well slotted into a playlist for most cantina types.

Cantina Band Kessel Run Remix  Mood: Another one that can work well slotted into a playlist for most cantina types, but which on its own feels a little more appropriate as background for a cantina specifically on the seedier side of town. Muffled under other background cantina sounds, you can imagine just the bass beat on this one leaking through.

Cantina Song DJ Dillon Remix.  Mood: Smokier, darker, more weird leather outfits likely to be seen. More spice addicts, less happy people dancing.

Cantina Band Noize Tank Remix   Mood: Dance club all the way. Lots of people bouncing up and down. I tend to feel this is better for less seedy clubs just because it more calls to mind people breaking their heels on the dance floor and puking up their cocktails rather than scum and villainy conducting their business.

And finally, though it's not the Cantina Band song, I can't end this post without an offering of a Lapti Nek Remix.

@Noth may have started this thread, however your post @Niarra sent me down the YouTube rabbit hole, so you only have yourself to blame...
