((To everyone reading this. These events aren't taking place until this Friday, but to give everyone a chance to post here to set up the story I'm making the thread now. So unless you are in the Tenebrous Gospel, please don't post here until after this Friday. Those in the Gospel and that wish to be involved in this story, feel free to post.))

Kastal's head slammed violently against the bulkhead of her ship as it was rocked by yet another volley of turbolasers. Whoever was firing on her had given no warning, nor had they responded to any hails.

"T-7, get that coolant leak under control now!!" Kastal jerked the control stick sharply to the left, trying to throw them off. She already realized there where too many for her to fight. Who would be attacking me? But something in her already sensed who it was, a darkness overlayed everything that was happening here.

She dove towards a nearby planet, hoping she might be able to loose them in the atmosphere long enough to give her a chance to jump to hyperspace. "T-7!! See if you can override their jamming sign--" She was cut short as the back half of her ship erupted in a giant explosion. The force of the blast ripped through the hull of her ship, causing it to spin out of control. Power throughout her ship went out, and the control stick went dead as vital pieces of her engine where destroyed. Without a moment to loose she lept out of her seat and raced towards the escape pod as her ship fell towards the planet, lifeless and burning.

Kastal struggled to get there against the wild tumbling of the ship. That the artificial gravity was only partially working only made things more difficult, her entire world exploding around her in a chaotic confusion of tearing metal, fire and acrid smoke.

She finally got into the escape pod and hit the launch button, and the sudden quiet that came from leaving her doomed ship was startling. Her pod floated away in a calm that was in stark contrast to the exploding ship she saw outside the window. She surpressed the fury rising up inside her at seeing her ship fall helplessly to the planet below, knowing her T-7 would never survive. Wiping away some sweat that was trickling down her forehead, she was surprised to see it was blood. The blow to her head must have been worse then she thought.

The pods computer display brought up the standard information regarding the jungle planet below that any survivor might need to know to survive in the conditions until a rescue came. But Kastal knew better, there would be no time for a rescue. Already the ships where no doubt preparing landing parties to search for her. The darkness was growing.

Lieutenant Ralakan Walker of the Tenebrous Gospel stood, suiting up in the dropship that would ferry him and a team of the Gospel's best to pick up whatever was left of the ship they had fired on only minutes ago. They would have to act fast, or else the ship would be swamped by whatever lay on the surface of the uncharted jungle planet.  The Miraluka felt the ship going down as he strapped on his gloves, loaded his sniper rifle, and slid his red and white helmet over his head. Still not quite sure why we needed to bring down this particular Jedi, I'd have thought we'd have more pressing matters. Well, Magius is the boss.. He turned around to the others present, an assortment of Sith, Mercenaries and other guardsmen or soldiers. "Alright. Here's the situation. Darth Magius has made it abundantly why he wants this Jedi, so we're going to delive. What he plans to do with her is not of our concern.   It's his business, he's the only one that needs to know. Kill your curiosity," he barked, one hand holding onto the railing above him. "We're just here to retrieve her and get out." The strike force all nodded and replied in the affirmative. Ralakan gave them a nod, then turned back around to look through the now open door of the dropship. They were circling the tops of the jungle, wind whipping and strange alien animals taking flight at the noise of the dropship. The pilots voice filled Ralakan's ears. "Landing in 10, Lieutenant."

Acolyte Qoasha grinned widely, rubbing a hand on her bald head in excitement. She looked out the cockpit window of the dropship at the greenery as she fastened a few last tools to her belt, leaning over the seated pilot and dangerously blocking his peripheral vision.

"Awesome! Jungle!" She exclaimed loudly, to the annoyance of the pilot.

"My lord," the pilot said with deference to the sith pureblood, "If you could please take a seat, we will land shortly."

Qoasha rolled her eyes at the pilot, "Oh fine! Whatever." She stumbled back into the main compartment of the dropship and grinned at Lieutenant Walker. Gripping a handhold, she balanced lithely despite the turbulence of landing.  She was ready for her first big assignment, whatever the unknown world may bring. Proclaiming to everyone and no one in particular, she shouted over the din, "This is gonna be SO MUCH FUN!"

48 hours earlier . . .

Darth Magius stood before the assembled crowd of a dozen or so of his the Emperor's most devoted followers, waiting for them to get settled down in their seats. He was dressed in his good robes this evening; black velvet fabric over crimson, gold trimming along the layered pauldrons and padded gloves. On his head he wore a circlet with a blood-red gem embedded in the center, resting on the center of his forehead. His favorite outfit out of his wardrobe.

They were gathered in one of the briefing rooms aboard the Emperor's Wrath, ordered by the Sith Lord to assemble at once for an important briefing. Most of the usual faces were there already: Lord Vakiri, Eskenah, Erakleon, the sniper Ralakan, Captain Lannist, and some of the cult's newer acolytes.

Magius stood in front of a holoprojector. "Take your seats," he said sternly.

"You are probably wondering why I have gathered you all here today. A fortnight ago, an asset of the Emperor's cult was attacked on Nar Shaddaa by a pair of Jedi," he activated the holoprojector, playing back the last bit of the surveillance footage from the complex, "resulting in the death of one of my apprentices whom I had overseeing it. They had since fled back to Tython, hiding within their miserable Jedi temple, but I received a report from an intercepted communication to one of the Jedi responsible that may make her accessible to us. Sometime in the next few days, she will be leaving Tython, on her way to Alderaan. She will not make it to Alderaan. I want this Jedi captured alive as soon as she leaves the system, but I do not want to draw any attention from the Republic. This will be a quick, stealthy smash and grab, and you should be out of the system and back to Imperial space before anyone is the wiser.

"Captain Lannist, your destroyer is smaller and faster, less likely to be detected. You will be taking it just outside of the Tython system. Ambush team will be in starfighters. In the event she tries to flee to a nearby planet, we will have dropships ready to send people down to grab her. The rest, I leave up to our tacticians. Remember, I want this Jedi alive. If she is brought back to me otherwise, you will wish you had not returned at all. That is all. Dismissed."

Magius switched off the holoprojector and retreated into his study before he could be bombarded with questions. These were his orders. They were not meant to be questioned, just followed. Inside his study, he noticed a figure standing in the corner, wearing a red battle harness with a long red skirt, an old Mandalorian-style helmet with a T-shape visor covering his face. He had the crimson skin of a Pureblood and the hilt of a double-bladed lightsaber hung from his left hip. If he wasn't so quiet, he might have almost reminded him of Anavros.

"Jevlas... So this is where you were hiding. I have a special assignment for you." Magius pulled out a datapad and handed it to the assassin.

2 hours ago . . .

"Sir. We have the Jedi's ship on long-range sensors. It should be in range in 30 minutes."

"Excellent," Capt. Lannist replied as he looked out from the bridge of the Terminus-class Destroyer at the asteroids floating around them. The charts located this conveniently placed asteroid field near the hyperlane between Tython and Alderaan, judging it to be a good place to hide a ship until it needed to jump into action. It also forced ships to come out of hyperspeed to avoid accidentally obliterating yourself on a rogue asteroid crossing your path. There was also nothing nearby other than an uninhabited planet. No Republic. No Empire. No backup.

"Assemble the strike team, lieutenant. Their timing needs to be impeccable in order to catch her as soon as she comes out of hyperspeed. Let's catch us a Jedi."

Kastal pulled herself out of the smoking wreckage of her escape pod. The explosion must have damaged the pods decent thrusters, because rather then landing it had impacted the surface. Gingerly she stood up, inspecting herself for injury and wiping off the blood from the various cuts on her. A lot of bruises, but otherwise I think I'm ok. That's one tough escape pod.

She whipped her head around at the sound of the dropship decending on the wreckage of her ship. The darkness she sensed from it was oppressive, but it was also somehow familiar. The realization terrified her as she remembered the last place she felt it. Impossible, he's dead!

Her ships wreckage wasn't very far away, and they would soon find her escape pod. She had to act fast. Digging through the wreckage she quickly found the backpack of survival gear and ran off into the jungle, putting as much distance between her and her pursuers as possible.

--------------------------

Some time later......

The Sith Acolytes closed in on her last known position. Long range thermal imaging and motion sensors showed this as a possible location for their target, however the dense life in the jungle made it impossible to know for certain. But the fact that 2 short range probes which would have given them more detail had both gone offline here made it very probable she was nearby. The AI had computed various factors such as terrain, wildlife, and likely behavior of fleeing victims and made a best guess as to her location, which the Sith where now following.

The three of them entered the clearing, only to find nothing there. The one Sith Acolyte was choosen especially for this as he had a knack for wilderness and tracking. Bending down to inspect the ground revealed no footprints, which was especially puzzling since the long range thermals showed a human sized heat signature right here. Even if it was an animal, it should still leave tracks of some sort. He pulled up the recon data on his datapad that showed live sensor readings of the area they are in. He saw the 3 of them moving around, plus a 4th heat signature right in the middle of them. What the hell? It was the last thought he ever had.

----------------

Kastal ignited her lightsaber at the last moment as she droped from the dense canopy overhead onto the 3 Sith, catching one of them unawares and cleaving his head off as she hit the forest floor. The other 2 managed to scatter backwards, igniting their own sabers in the process. But Kastal did not give them time to recover as she instantly lept at the nearest one, her lightsabers a blur as she lashed out at him. Her motion never stopped, moving fluidly from one strike to the next, her body never in the same place for more then a moment.

The other Sith had manage to close the gap and reengage Kastal. She was between them, one saber fending off each of them in a flawless display of timing and precision. The Sith pressed the attack, believing they had her at a disadvantage, but then Kastal saw her opening. She struck at the midsection of one, freeing up her second saber for only a moment.

It was all she needed.

Her sudden movement towards the other one along with having to deal with 2 sabers caught him offgaurd. She was able to lift up his saber and dart inside his defenses. She sliced open his belly, dropping him to the ground in a cry of pain.

The remaining one took mere moments to dispatch, and once he was down she turned back to the one on the ground who was grasping his stomache and writhing in pain. She placed a knee on his chest and reached into her pack, bringing out a Kolto injection. One thing she could count on about Sith is they always do what is in their own best interest, and she knew she could get the information out of this one.

"See this? This is a Kolto injection. Tell me what I want to know and I'll treat your wound well enough to keep you alive until help arrives. Otherwise," she put her lightsaber against his chest, "I'll kill you now. Who sent you after me?"

She was shocked to sense no fear coming from him at all, only a deep calmness. "I will tell you nothing, Jedi filth. I will serve my master to the death," he leaned up slightly off the ground, smiling and locking his eyes on her. "You will know who comes for you soon enough. You cannot escape him." It was said with a conviction and certainty that Kastal had never seen before, and it chilled her greatly. What could possibly instill such loyalty from a Sith?

The seed of fear that had been in her since this whole thing started now grew from the fanatical brainwashing the dying Sith under her knee displayed. He layed back with a smile on his face, and Kastal could sense within him a great calmness bordering on happiness. That his reaction was so far removed from what she expected terrified her and she ignited her saber, killing him. She then got up off the ground and ran off at top speed, a feeling close to panic rising inside her.

10 minutes after the ship's impact planetside.
The dropship touched down around the huge fiery crater that had once been the Jedi's ship. "Go, go, go!" Ralakan barked to the strike team, ordering them to follow him out of the dropship and spread out to search the area. An array of Sith, Soldiers and Mercenaries all filed out quickly, weapons in hand, all heads on a swivel, scanning the area. Gods.Debris was everywhere. The Miraluka was an invaluable asset to have on a manhunt, as detecting life amongst destruction was what his species did best. He walked around the remains of the ship, most of it obliterated metal. However, it seemed that part of the ship survived. the Lieutenant turned and looked at what remained of the cockpit, before standing and cautiously making his way over. The rest of the strike force were either picking through the 200 square metre crash site area, or headed off into the jungle to see if they had missed anything. Walker stepped through what remained of the door frame. The entire cockpit was buried on a 30 degree angle right into the dirt, windows and displays smashed, seats ripped right out of the floor they had been attached to. He stood over the astrogation charts and NAV Data, looking for anything that could give him a hint. Buttons were pushed, consoles tried and keys tapped to no avail. This stuff was dead. "Ah, shit."" the Miraluka cursed under his breath. He turned, and stopped. He hadn't noticed coming in, it had been too still. Lying before him was the upper half of a T7 Model droid, very, very dead. He turned the droid over, looking for any data he could. He opened the shell of the T7 unit, and took out one of it's memory drives, before plugging it into his wrist mounted Datapad. Information streamed on to the small device, displaying the last few minutes of the little droid's operational life.

Ralakan paused for a second. He then opened up his radio. "All units this is Hawkeye, we're not going to find the Jedi here. She goes by the name of Kastal, ship's logs show she jettisoned before the ship hit. Expand our search area by-" Screams, the sound of lightsabers flaring and cursing cut him off as his ears were assaulted across the airwaves by what sounded like a group of acolytes were butchered. He remotely cut off the feed, stood up rifle in hand, and began running through the thick dirt, debris and foliage, transmitting orders. "Triangulate that, let's get her."

Qoasha moved from branch to branch in the thick forest canopy, the trees having grown so close together that she hardly needed to climb, only walk or occasionally hop, her excellent sense of balance keeping her stable. She was alone, the group of mercenaries she disembarked with having preferred to stick to the ground. She peered down occasionally through the hanging vines to look for evidence of humanoid passage.

A sudden movement caused Qoasha to crouch and freeze. Her eyes scanned the surroundings carefully, and she listened for further motion.

The branch next to Qoasha rustled again, followed by quick flash of color as a small flying creature, green and red, shot out from behind the leaves and landed on a branch in the next tree. The creature was covered in fur-like feathers, two large round eyes staring unblinkingly at the sith pureblood as it ruffled its four wings. Then, opening its squat mouth, it made a low pitched rumble.

"Hey!" Qoasha whispered with a grin, "What are ya?"

Suddenly, the creature flew away in a flurry of feathers and leaves. Across the forest canopy, Qoasha noticed similar creatures taking flight. Seconds later, the sound of a scream can be heard echoing across the mists, mixed with the characteristic buzz and swoosh of light sabers.

Qoasha's earpiece crackled into life, the voice of Ralakan shouting into her ear, "Triangulate that, let's get her."

Qoasha grinned widely, patting the vibroblade on her back to make sure it was well secured. Then she leaped up from her crouch, skipping along the tree branches rapidly in the direction of the sounds. Her feet barely touched the branches as she half ran, half-flew through the canopy, dodging foliage and remaining almost completely silent.

Discovering wildlife was nice, but she was going to catch herself a Jedi.

Kastal was in a full sprint, doing everything she could to keep ahead of her pursuers. She knew her only chance was to keep them spread out and prevent them from grouping up to take her down. Thus far it had worked. She had given her pursuers just enough hope of catching her that they kept up the chase, believing that they where mere moments away from catching her. It had prevented those in back from joining the front pursuers, and in her minds eye she could picture the string of troops moving towards her, their numbers getting thinner and more spread out all the time.

She had already killed 2 more that had gotten too close to her, her lightsabers finding their mark quickly. But even that brief battle had taken up more time then she would have liked, for she was not running directly away from them. Rather she was moving in a large arc that would eventually put her back at the dropship, with the enemy spread out behind her and unable to defend the ship. Her rescue would never arrive in time, she knew that. Therefore she needed to get off the planet now, and there was only one ship that could do that: The enemies dropship. It was a crazy plan, but it was also her only hope.

Her breath was coming in ragged gasps now, but she refused to slow. She could sense something following her up in the canopy of the trees, something far different from the troops on the ground. And it was gaining on her.

On board the Terminus destroyer, in orbit around the jungle planet, Capt. Lannist monitored the situation on the ground. Thermal and bioscans kept track of everyone who had went planetside on the dropship, and the locations of the downed Jedi ship and the escape pod were also marked on his map. The Jedi was leaving a trail of bodies in her wake, which would make locating her much easier. Three down near the escape pod, another two in the jungle.

"Where are you running, Jedi?" Lannist mused as he stared at the map. The dense foliage made it hard to track the Jedi using thermal imaging, but he knew she couldn't run forever.

"Ensign, what is the status of this planet?"

The ensign sitting at a terminal next to the Captain pulled up the planet's known data. "Uninhabited, sir, besides the local wildlife. No known structures or valuable minerals."

"And we have already jammed the distress signal." Lannist paced in front of the map display, rubbing his chin. "The only way she'll get off this planet is by stealing a ship. I wonder if she's that crazy. Ensign, contact Lord Marcellos immediately."

Meanwhile . . .

Stalking through the jungle, not far from where the latest acolytes had been slain, the Zabrak apprentice known as Lokus and a pair of Imperial soldiers continued the search, spread out in a wide V-formation with Lokus on point. He used his lightsaber to cut away at low hanging vines and branches blocking his way.

"M'lord, we got movement!" reported one of the troopers through his comms. Lokus saw it too; something moving swiftly through the jungle. His lips curled back in a hungry grin. He had yet to face a Jedi in combat and was eager to see what all the fuss was about.

"Cover me," he said before dashing off through the brush in pursuit, lightsaber in each hand, but not yet ignited. The soldiers would never be able to keep up with him, he knew, but they could at least follow from behind and watch his back.

Qoasha could hear Kastal crashing through the forest below her. The Jedi moved quickly, but Qoasha felt her gradually flagging speed. Flashes of Kastal could be seen between the branches and vines below: Robes fluttering, twin sabers. Qoasha cursed under her breath, well aware of her lone vibroblade. Saber fights weren't her strong suit.

Nonetheless, Qoasha's own stamina was sufficient to give chase, thanks to years of acrobatics training. She leaped forward more quickly to gain on Kastal, only tens of yards from her now. As Qoasha hopped from branch to branch, she began to spread her arms wide, balancing and drawing on the Force. The movements felt familiar to her, natural as the games of her childhood in the jungles of Dromund Kaas.

The low-hanging vines in front of Kastal began to come together, curtain by curtain by curtain, wherever Kastal turned, impeding her progress, pulling at her limbs, writhing and knotting. The closer Qoasha moved to the Jedi, the more violently the vines reached out. Purple sparks began to flow from Qoasha's wide-spread fingers into the hanging vines, adding sharp stinging whenever vine met flesh.

Farther off, Qoasha could see glimpses of others approaching, some behind, others cutting a diagonal toward them. She grinned widely, hopping here and there above Kastal as she continued to work the vines. The Jedi was strong and swift, but the net was closing.

Ralakan ran directly at her.
The Jedi's tactics were inspired to say the least, but you can only outrun a Miraluka for so long.
He had followed her force signature all the way, watching her run not away, but in a large arc back towards the dropship, so he had course corrected. He now found himself roughly 1000 meters away from her, the Jedi running directly at him. He stopped, and dropped down on one knee, rifle snapped up, in an expert shooting position. He caught his breath immediately as he had been trained to do, and held it, searching through his scope for a target. One, one hundred. Two, two hundred. Three, three hundred. The Jedi came into view, cutting her way through a swathe of leaves and vines, desperately running for her life.
Ralakan cycled the bolt without looking, focus still down the sight, his zen like sniper state consuming him. Silence consumed the world as he concentrated, the only sound was his slow heartbeat. His sights drifted onto her legs, pumping so tenaciously. He could "see" the muscles straining, the blood pumping, the adrenaline fuelled body in maximum overdrive. Boom boom, boom boom, booom booom... CRACK!

Without conscious thought, Kastal's body lept suddenly to the side, her body contorting in mid air and lightsabers igniting as Ralakan's volley of blasterfire rained down upon her. Her connection to the force alerted her to the danger and she instinctively took action before she could even process what was occurring. She struck the back of a nearby tree hard, shielding her momentarily from him. Dammit, what is he doing in front of me?! They should all be behind me. The presence in the trees overhead was nearly upon her, and she was pinned down by Ralakan. Now that she was aware he was there she could sense him. He was obviously force sensitive, but certainly not a Sith. If I could only get close to him, I could take him out quickly and be on my way. Somehow she doubted that would work. He wasn't a normal soilder, that much was obvious since in spite of the dense vegetation he had aimed his attack perfectly.

Without further hesitation she darted out from behind her cover, dashing towards another tree as the ground around her exploded from blaster fire. Her lightsabers where a blur, deflecting bolts as her body twisted and turned, her movements intentionally erratic to prevent him from anticipating where to aim his next shot. A hiss of pain escaped her lips as she felt a bolt graze her thigh just before she made it to her new cover. It was only then that it occurred to her that every shot was aimed low, at her legs. He's not trying to kill me, only wound me! The thought made her shudder.

As she crouched there, a subtle background noise that she had been hearing all this time finally made itself known to her. Had she not been so focused on escape she would have noticed it sooner. A low, powerful rumbling that she had mistook for some machinery she finally realized had a natural source, a waterfall. Focus on the here and now, not on a future that isn't yet certain! She berated herself. It was no more then 100 meters to her left.

But she could tell she wasn't going to make it without a distraction. Centering herself and using the force to focus on him, she stepped out directly into Ralakan's line of fire. She could feel the bolt coming as if in slow motion, knowing its exact trajectory. She did not even bother to step out of its way, but rather allowed her lightsaber to intercept it at the perfect position to deflect it. Instead of it randomly flying off in any of 1,000 different directions, this time it was shot directly back at it's source, landing within half a meter of where it was shot from. The brief distraction was all she needed, and she took off sprinting for the waterfall before Ralakan could recover. She did not slow as she reached the edge of it, but instead flung herself off towards the distant river below.

Qoasha watched as Kastal dodged Ralakan's shots, coming up almost overhead now. The vines have thinned out, and so have the branches. The ground dropped sharply to her right into a cliff, then a waterfall. She cursed again; clearly she'll have to engage up close.

As she closed upon Kastal, Qoasha stopped and crouched upon a branch, seeking a convenient spot to drop down onto the darting Jedi. She drew her vibroblade from her back.

Suddenly, she saw Kastal step out into Ralakan's line of fire, easily deflecting his latest shot back at him. The shot landed dangerously close to the Miraluka. Qoasha whispered, "Ouchh! Way too close."

When she turned her head again, Qoasha saw that the Jedi was already at the edge of the cliff. Before she could stand up, Kastal had flung herself off toward the waters below.

Qoasha snapped her fingers. "Kriffing Jedi!"

Rising to her full height, Qoasha leaped onto the branch closest to the drop-off. She took a single look down into the rumbling mists, rolled her eyes--"Oh, whatever!"--and front flipped off the branch toward Kastal and the unknown.

((For potential posters, Kastal and I are going to take this in-game briefly. Stay posted!))

((the following is more or less what we RP'd in game, so I'm going to just post everything that happened from Kastal's viewpoint. it's also going to be a bit long, sorry!))

Even with her Jedi training and force ability, the impact with the water HURT. She struggled to get to the surface, fighting the current and eventually crawling to the rocky shore. But she had only barely managed to take a few shuddering breaths before she heard a splash in the water behind her. Turning, she saw Qoasha swimming lightly to the shore a dozen meters behind her. So that's whos been chasing me.

"Back off Sith, or you'll suffer the same fate as your friends." For some reason, she did not feel the raw anger and hatred coming from this Sith that she normally felt from them.

"I don't have any friends!" Qoasha said as she skipped towards her, hand on her vibrosword. Kastal was surprised to hear laughter coming from her as she drew her weapon and took a swing at Kastal before lithly back stepping out of range.  Kastal easily blocked it.

They exchanged a few more blows, and the emotion she could most sense from Qoasha was......happy? Playful? It made no sense. Just kill her and get out of here! Her skill is obviously no match for yours. But something stayed Kastal's hand. Perhaps it was curiosity, or perhaps it was just sympathy for the young sith.

Just then she heard another splash. Ralakan had managed to climb down the cliff and was now approaching the two of them, weapon at the ready. "It's over Jedi, we have you." Before Kastal could respond Qoasha used the force to pull Kastals legs out from under her and swing at her head. She droped to one knee in the water but managed to catch Qoasha's attack in her sabers. She spun her around so that both opponents where in front of her.

"Who are you? What do you want with me?!" Kastal yelled at Qoasha, desperate for answers.

"Don't tell her anything" said Ralakan. "This can get very ugly for you very fast Jedi. Surrender now"

But Kastal was all too familiar with the darkness coming from these two. It was like a stench surrounding them, and it brought back a flood of horrible memories from her time spent at the hands of that Sith.....This makes no sense, he's dead!! How could he still be after me?

Just the Qoasha lept off to the side and directed force lightning at the water. The electricity was paralyzing as it hit Kastal, but fortunately it also caused Ralakan to scurry out of the water and he was unable to take advantage of the opening. Kastal just barely managed to focus herself through the pain enough to hurl a lightsaber at Qoasha. It wasn't aimed at all, but it caused her to flinch enough to break her concentration and stop the lightning. Kastal quickly scampered out of the water and called back her lightsaber, only now she was in a very bad spot directly between Ralakan and Qoasha.

"Dammit Qoasha, watch what your doing!! The Darth wants her alive, remember?!" barked Ralakan.

Suddenly it all became clear to her. He had a master. That's why the darkness feels so familiar, they are serving that Siths master!! The realization chilled her to the bone.

Qoasha lept out of the water at Kastal, attacking her again. Only this time Kastal did not hold back. A quick parry, a spin and counter attack and Kastal was able to grab her swordarm and spin around behind her, holding Qoasha as a human shield inbetween herself and Ralakans weapon, with her saber at Qoasha's neck.

"Put down your weapon, or I'll kill her! I swear it." Kastals said with a snarl.

Ralakan didn't seem to care. "I can make the shot even with her in the way Jedi. But are you really willing to go against your Code?"

"Oh for kriffs sake!!" Qoasha didn't seem to want to wait to see how the standoff went. She lashed backwards at Kastals shin with her boot, and it was only Kastal's reflexes that allowed her to rotate her leg enough to keep it from breaking. Even still, the momentum carried the both of them over sideways and Kastal had to twist and contort her body to keep her saber from slicing off Qoasha's neck so much that it left herself open for a moment. Why did I do that?

The brief opening was all Ralakan needed, his shot was spot on and it ripped through Kastals thigh muscle. Kastal let out an inhuman cry of pain. Her vision went white and it triggered something deep inside her. That moment seem to take up an eternity, and everything Kastal went through at the hands of the sith bubbled up inside her in a torrent of rage, hate, frustration and anger. With a great roar it came out of her as an incredibly powerful force push, directed right at Ralakan.

The blow knocked him senseless, sending him scattering backwards into the river and his gun flying. Qoasha was partially in the path of it and she was knocked back as well. "Holy crap did you see that?! That was awesome!! A real force push!!" But Kastal barely heard her. In an instant she was gone, scrambling over the rocks on the bank of the river and disappearing into the vegetation leaving a trail of blood behind her as she desperately limped away as fast as she could. What have I done? Oh no, what have I done? For the second time in recent memory, Kastal had allowed her anger to overwhelm her. She was only partially running from her pursuers. She was also running from a small realization deep inside her that she could not shake. What she had done felt good.

Lokus watched from the top of the waterfall, the Imperial troopers flanking his sides. Bastards started without me, he thought with a hint of envy. She was skilled, he observed, but she was also getting more and more tired. Desperation.

He sent the pair of soldiers with him back into the jungle when she limped off into the treeline to chase her down, while he took an alternate route that, in theory, should cut her off. Injured and leaving a trail so obvious that a Gamorrian could follow, it shouldn't be too difficult to catch her now, unless there was another cliff for her to jump from nearby.

Lokus brought his hand up to his earpiece, tapping it to open the comms and check in with an update. "Red Three to Leader, we have her on the run and closing on her. She's injured. Walker shot her in the leg. Over."

Lord Marcellos was on the other end of the line, waiting impatiently in the dropship, where he half-expected the Jedi to show up and try to steal.

"Good work, but remember what Lord Magius said. We cannot kill her! Now hurry up and catch the Jedi, I'm sweatin' my ass off here."
