But it is looking like an Impside version of the call for aid is in order. Me and Dass will brainstorm!

Plot question - and something I've never been clear on.

I was under the impression that the general Imperials and most Sith would have no idea about the "threat" of the Shadren Hegemony - no idea about raising and using undead, etc.

Is this not the case?  Is this now more common knowledge?  Just want to clarify this before I figure out Karmic's stance and what is, and is not - actual IC information (vs. ooc).

I know Malagant "knows something" but he's certainly never gone into public detail about what he knows; and I know he's never talked to Karmic about his suspicions or whatever.  So it could be viewed more as one Darth just going after another for no "real reason other than power" (vs. undead/sith alchemy stuff...).

So yea wanted to clarify what exactly about the Hegemony "most of us" would already be aware of.

I mean it may still be hush hush as much as possible and that's fine - just want to know for sure.

Fankies!  :aww:

To answer your question, there has been some weird crap that has come out of Shadren, but also some pretty normal power dynamics. Below is a timeline of events I'm sure individuals in the Sith Empire would be able to gain access to (TL;DR at the bottom):

Some years before Zakuul:
- Prince Dorian and his people are discovered in cryogenic stasis by the Sith Empire. Upon awakening, it is discovered that he and his came from a pre-hyperdrive society that set out to colonize one of the nearby systems.
- Dorian is discovered to be Force sensitive, and submits himself to the training of the Sith. He is given (or claims, depending on who you talk to) the Shadren system to rule as an independent state allied to the Sith Empire.
- Dorian is apprenticed to Darth Lethash of the Valefor—a group of likeminded Sith set on reducing the infighting of the Empire in order to focus better on their war with the Republic.
- Upon his ascension as a Lord of the Sith, Dorian is crowned King of his people. Some in positions close to the prince
Spoiler: show
may have noted his growing obsession with the Killik people in this time.

- Dorian disappears for nearly a year from galactic society.
- Vedriat and Dorian are married.

During Zakuul:
- The Valefor announces their protest of Acina's ascension as Empress after the death of Darth Marr and the majority of the Dark Council. Refusing to accept her rule, they announce their independance from the Empire and retreat to the Belsmuth Sector. At the event where this seceding is announced, Vedriat seems taken aback by it. She also does not seem particularly enthused in her commitment to the Valefor afterwards. Those close to the royal couple or with well placed sources may know
Spoiler: show
that she quarrelled with Dorian over the decision.

- Darth Lethash ( @Hawking) rises as the High Warlord of the Valefor. King Dorian ( @Dorian), Lord Baelfir ( @Aolani), Lord Liquidis ( @Liquidis), and Lord Aatrac ( @Audaine) are all former Sith Imperials and notable members of Lethash’s Council of Warlords. (If I missed anybody, please ping me and I shall add you in!)
- Due to the strain of the war, the Empire, through Moff Hannibal Trakal, negotiates the legal transfer of control of the Belsmuth sector to the Valefor in exchange for increased tribute and assistance in the war. For those keeping a keen eye on galactic politics,
Spoiler: show
none of the Imperial individuals associated with the transfer are now living. Several were killed in action with Zakuul. Several more died in a swift and terrible plague that claimed the lives of thousands of beings in Valefor space.

- Vedriat and Dorian present their firstborn children, Princess Zaria and Prince Trestin, to the galaxy. For those keeping tabs on the royal family:
Spoiler: show
Vedriat curiously never appeared to be pregnant. However, leaked DNA testing proves that Dorian and she are the biological parents.

- Dorian challenges High Warlord Lethash for leadership of the Valefor. Dorian is victorious. Lethash flees into exile. For those close to Lethash or who witnessed the duel:
Spoiler: show
Dorian is claimed to have destroyed Lethash’s connection to the Force as the final blow in their duel.

- Dorian absorbs the Valefor into the Shadren Hegemony. He names Warlord Aatrac a duchess and Taelios ( @Lolermelon) a count of his court. A Taelios Genetech Industries megafactory is constructed on Shadren V.
- Vedriat donates her personal fleet to the Grey Coalition to serve as needed. She maintains contact with the Coalition throughout the rest of Zakuul’s occupation.
- The Hegemony continues to offer tribute to the Sith Empire in the form of ships and currency.
- Death’s Fist, Dorian’s personal fleet, invades the Demetras sector, claiming to do so in response to the political instability of the area and the threat that instability poses to Hegemony space. The worlds of the Todirium system are consumed in a wave of undead.
- Dorian leaves his fleet to continue its conquest of the Demetras system while he returns to Shadren.
- In an act of defiance against both the Shadren Hegemony and the Sith Empire, rebels on New Bornalex, a world in Hegemony space, destroy themselves and the habitability of the world.
- Warlord Liquidis abandons the Hegemony to return to the Sith Empire.
- Tensions continue to rise between the Hegemony and certain influences in the Empire (I’m looking at you, @Joshmaul and @Nicohlas!)
- A variety of individuals are invited to celebrate the first birthday of the prince and princess. Notable attendees include Sith Overseer Sivala ( @Niarra), Galactic Republic Senator Alyonna Rhybak ( @Orell), former Jedi Knight Harkasone Milan ( @LVT) and a scion of the Mandalorian clan Veshkgalaar, Urziya Veshkgalaar ( @Noth). (If I missed anybody here, please ping me and I’ll add you in!)
- Vedriat commands her fleet in conjunction with the Alliance during the Battle of Voss.

Post Zakuul:
- Vedriat assumes leadership of the Shadren Hegemony as its sole ruler. She withdraws Hegemony forces from the Demetras sector.
- Vedriat reaches out to prominent Imperial figures to reinforce her position with the Sith Empire.
- The crisis of succession begins on Reydovan Prime. Lord Destane flees to Shadren to ask for her support. Those with ties to the Shadren or with sources positioned closely may know
Spoiler: show
that Vedriat duelled with Lord Destane in the throne room,
and those with particular closeness may know
Spoiler: show
that she raised Lord Destane from the dead with Sith sorcery. She was significantly weakened after doing so—it took days to recover her strength and weeks to fully reclaim her vigour.

- Darth Haar comes forward to speak in support of Vedriat and the Shadren Hegemony.
- As a “true ally of the Empire”, Vedriat denounces the traitorous “Darth” Taelios and raids his megafactory on Shadren V. Taelios escapes; the factory is claimed for the Hegemony.
- Vedriat offers ships for the battle over Iokath.
- Tymeis, Vedriat's Fury and right hand, quietly begins sussing out those who might be allies willing to recover the queen.

And I thiiiiiiiiiink that brings us up to the current timeline. Whew! That was a doozy to put together. (And if anyone notices any inconsistencies or people I missed, please let me know!)

So! TL;DR: the use of the undead by the Hegemony is not a secret. Its secrecy would be impossible to keep considering the role the undead played in the razing of the Todirium system; however, Dorian’s status as undead is currently protected knowledge. Few would be aware of his state. I hope that answers some questions!

*rises from coffin* You rang?

I imagine Irmenu is still chugging along trading ores and shit with the Empire and being a good little allied planet. My memory is terrible but I believe Dorian made Bę a prince and he was gonna try and talk the people of Irmenu into giving their dead towards the Hegemony.

Bę probably hasn't been seen around much outside of Irmenu but there's rumours that he went a little nuts after his bff @Ryshias tried to kill him, has been in general less pretty, and working on lots of alchemy in his basement. A SITH BETRAYING ANOTHER SITH, WHO'DA THUNK IT.  :darkside:
My drawing was not of a hat.

I've been catching up on the plot points (assuming all that was role played out, good god!) to get up to speed, and something isn't making sense to me. From my perspective, allow me to summarize to clarify my understanding here:

The Valefor professed to follow a path of unification and solidarity to help eliminate the infighting amongst the Sith, and yet they secede from the Empire the moment Acina ascends as Empress. This doesn't make sense to me because Acina is pursuing a policy of reunification and preservation for the Empire when she chose to ally with the Eternal Alliance, which is essentially aligned with the Valefor's ideology, and then the Valefor defiantly exhibit the type of divisive behavior they claimed to stand against by isolating themselves in the Belsmuth sector. Am I missing something here?

Then the Valefor are absorbed into the Shadren Hegemony when Dorian takes over, a splinter government that has its own agenda for power and conquest that had likely outlived its usefulness as a tool for the Empire (and it doesn't sound like the Empire had any real influence or control over it to begin with beyond a very loose affiliation). It's fairly transparent that the tribute they offered was an appeasement tactic to buy them time to build and consolidate their power base, although the extent of their ambitions is anyone's guess.

Finally, Vedriat, wife/lover of Dorian, assumes control of the Hegemony for reasons unexplained. Although she's appeared to pay lip service to the Empire, and indeed committed ships to the Battle of Voss, I have yet to see her bend a knee in front of Empress Acina. I would therefore conclude that the Hegemony still has aspirations for power and influence beyond it's little corner of the galaxy, which may eventually come into direct competition and conflict with the Empire itself. While none of this can be considered uncharacteristic of the Sith, the Hegemony (leadership) seems largely comprised of the Valefor who advocated against fratricide.

The real issue here, not to minimize the Republic's potential role in all of this, isn't the King of Iridonia or his plea for help - it's Vedriat, the Shadren Hegemony, and indirectly, Dorian.

Do I have the basic gist for the circumstances of these events?

The Valefor split early on into the Zakuul xpac before any of that lore was established, when it looked like Acina was an usurper. So players moving faster that plot. The other points I can touch on when not limited to my phone.

Edit: When Dorian took over it was an ic response to our gm stepping down. Think of it ic as Alexander uniting the Greek city states under a single banner. That is what took place. The reason the Empire doesn't just crush them is they have undead, plague, and ship yards that they use to make them useful allies for the Empire. Also because we are a guild (an inactive one though).

This is also why Veddy took over. I was unable to play due to work, so we came up with the best ic way to explain this. Plot holes are due to players really since this was our guild doing something different.

Okay I am done writing on a phone. XD

I'm interested in this! From what I've skimmed here it seems at least either Xemithes or Arcuro might be able to fit into this somehow, with the latter being one I've been hoping to get out again for a looooooong time (he's been trapped in nothing and nowhere land since pre-Zakuul, he's a real nowhere man :sigh:). Anywho, not sure how exactly they'd fit in, but Xem is an ex-Jedi Knight with direct current ties to the Custodum and Arcuro is a career SpecForce marine with a shiny record up until a recently troubled history stemming from the state of the Republic during Zakuul. I figure that makes both of them decent options for bit players or side characters in people's stuff!

I'll do my best to force myself to actually pay attention to the forums and put the energy into keeping up with all the planning this time...

@Cyone bring them both! It would be neat to bring some Pub military type presence, since there haven't been many opportunities for that lately. And Xem fits in through his friendships and peacemaker role easily.

@Mourne - Dassalya is handling the Shadren side of things, so I cannot answer your questions there. However, do not get the wrong impression: This plot is equally concerned with both Imperial and Republic affairs. Ex. The previous plot mentioned in the OP dealt indirectly with separatist factions on Iridonia and delved deeply into matters of the Senate and the Pub military, which may factor into this thread depending on what happens. Both plots are equally weighted with equal opportunity for all players.

Installments so far have been in the game. We will probably keep doing it as such with chat rooms used as needed.

So what if we are not able to be in game due to work schedules?
