Thought this thing was stickied...  (IT SHOULD BE! *tag mods*  )

Posting to let people know Karmic's more-than-semi-retired.

You won't see me much around anywhere outside of Seraphie/Stell's private events in the future, maybe.

I'm more than happy to RP with anyone who wishes to set something up one on one - my email account is linked to PMs here so I'll always know if you want to get in touch with me (for any reason).  And it always will be.  :aww:  Happy to hear from anyone who wishes to keep in touch!

But outside of that - this is my goodbye to the general community.

edited to add: Should anyone ever come around Secret World or WoW or TESO and need someone to help'em out or get them started - drop me a line! I'm always in a few online games simultaneously :)

The community won't be the same without you, Karmic... I know we never really interacted much in-game, but your presence was always a welcome one there. I hope someday we'll be able to bump into each other there again.

@ThyssenKrupp, can you clarify your current play style and how active you are? Everyone discussing their personal schedules or challenges helps us spur new Events or storylines when we all reconnect.

As of this past March I haven't been in-game for over a year. My life has rendered me unable to access the computer that has TOR on it, so I haven't been able to really do much of anything with my characters beyond a few pocket RPs here and there. Presently, Thyssen is currently in quasi-retirement with his wife and daughter on Coruscant. He still holds rank within the Krayt's Jaw Cartel, however, and will step in on a regular basis to oversee projects or handle certain situations personally.

None of the options really account for my situation, unfortunately. So I'll just say that I'm not dead yet! :umm:

Cirsei's been notified of this thread. I can't say for sure when she'll be able to get in touch with you, as work has been keeping her busy. But I'm confident that she'll at least make an effort!

I sensed a voice calling to me from across the void. A potential new recruit, eh? What Cyone says is true; at the moment he is the defacto guild leader of the Krayt's Jaw Cartel due to @Cirsei and I's inability to access the game. But we're always looking to expand our number, should the person looking to join us meet the right qualifications. The KJC is a criminal cartel not unlike the Zann Consortium of Legends. They are large and influential, but they do their best to remain off everyone's radar. They are arguably best known for attacking ships carrying slaves, with the intention of setting those particular individuals free. Many of these ships have been in the service of the Sith Empire -- but you didn't hear that from me. If you feel that this is something you would like to know more about, we'll try to get you in touch with Cirsei. She's the leader of the entire organization; I'm just the second-in-command.

*hugs the Noth back* Thank you. And thank you, everybody else, for putting up with me like you do. I know it isn't the easiest thing.

*quick hugs Seraphie back*

Writing this as I'm about to go to bed. I went back to the medical center today and had the doctors run some tests on me. The good news is that the issues I'm currently struggling with aren't permanent, but they are going to persist for another week or two. While they weren't able to say anything with 100% certainty, they think that my body had an adverse reaction to the medication that was used to numb me up prior to the surgery.

As always, I will keep you all apprised as things develop.

Take care, everyone.

I think something went wrong with my surgery. I can't walk right. Trembling constantly. Barely holding it together emotionally right now. Will attempt to keep everyone apprised, but not making any promises.

My reevaluation occurred today, ahead of schedule. The situation isn't good. My entire back is basically infected. The doctor gave me a series of cortisone shots down the length of my back to reduce the inflammation, then scheduled an appointment for me to return on October 5th so that I can undergo surgery. Given how bad things have gotten, I'm now expected to be on the mend for a total of three weeks instead of the originally estimated ten days -- and that's only if there aren't any complications. :sigh:

Hello everyone,

It's been a while, hasn't it? I wish I could say that I was returning to you with good news, or simply returning to you period. But I'm here today to let you all know that it's looking more and more likely the surgery that I thought that I was going to have to endure some months ago is going to occur at some point in the next couple of weeks. I go in on the 25th for a reevaluation of the "objects" in my back. Yes, objects. Plural. I now have more than one. Isn't that wonderful? Anyway, after the reevaluation comes the scheduling of the operation. I can't say for certain whether or not I'm still going to be completely out of contact with the world for the originally estimated ten days, but my guess is that I won't have to worry about being away for any longer than that, since the "objects" are more than likely all going to come out in one go. I could be wrong, of course, but I can't imagine that my dermatologist would want to take a “wait and see” approach this late in the game. But if he does, I'm going to insist that we go through with the procedure anyway, because having just one of these things being in danger of abscessing is bad enough. I mean, really, what have I got to lose? Y'know, other than skin. :sigh:

By the way, for those of you who've been wondering...

(You're probably going to need to right-click and select 'open image in new tab' in order to view this properly.)

This is why I haven't been able to get on my own computer for the last few months, and why I'm not sure when I'll be able to again. The whole media room is like this. Just crammed full of my parents' numerous unfinished projects. About the only spaces free are the ones immediately in front of my gaming consoles, and the spot on the couch in front of them. And, yes, that is dog hair all over the carpet that has yet to be vacuumed. I daren't think about what the vents in my tower look like right about now. :rage:
