I love the trailer. I love everything about it. I don't understand why dudebros are up in arms about Star Wars getting another female protagonist (other than the obvious reason, and really I'd be happy if they were all women protagonists from here on out), but I want more. MORE.

I know, right? Stupid fake geek men, ruining everything.

I hope we can soon see a more diverse female lead soon.  I hope they continue to branch out like they are doing.

For me, it's been Plants VS Zombies Garden Warfare 2 (talked into it by a friend) and Stardew Valley (best indie game I've ever played.)

So a reported trick for speeding up the load times after you completed a mission.  Press the Cap Locks key.

Out of curiosity, does this new chapter require you to do actions in areas that flag you for PVP?  I've heard complaint on that but have not played it.

Tips I've found for XCOM 2:

Make the medic useful - the mod Leader Pack will turn a somewhat okay character, like the Medic, into a leader that strengthens and supports your team more than you thought possible.  Increased Intel, salvage, supplies, defense bonus, and more.  The Medic is not the greatest of front liners but they make a good support character and this mod makes them the greatest support character.

Pistol Sharpshooters are amazing - they can do a lot of damage not just to one enemy but to multiple.  I've had them drop three to four enemies in just one round using only a pistol.  The sniper rifle makes for a nice support weapon also.

E.X.O suits will save you and empower you - yes, they give you some nice health and give you one armor to protect you, but that's nothing compared to the heavy weapon they get.  The base weapon, missile launcher, has a high damage 4-7 and a long range.  Have a couple of these on your team will allow you to blow up cover, objectives, and keep your guys safe.  I've launched missiles from high up positions about a quarter across the map to strike at heavily secured enemy positions and objectives.  They make base defense missions so much more safer.

Grenadiers much more useful - Infinitely more useful than in the previous game.  Blowing up everything is now an option again.

Don't be afraid to get Rangers in hand to hand - The Assault sets for the Ranger will turn these guys into murder machines.  Dressing one up to look like Wolverine and then naming him Wolverine feels so right.  There is also a fun glitch in the game when you kill someone in melee.  Sometimes you will slash them and they will just stand there for a few seconds staring at you before they fall over dead.

Get the controlling classes!!! - The Combat Hacker and PSI Operative will be god sends to you on missions.  You encounter a hefty amount of Mechanical units that you can hack and control to use against your enemies and soak up fire.  Dominating is an amazing ability and it's fairly easy to dominate the more combative aliens than you'd think.  I've turned around loses by hacking enemies and using their missiles on themselves and enemies and dominating a enemy then using him to scout or attack his allies is wonderful.

Also, XCOM 2 (Cowboy) Bebop

True story: A friend of mind once kept getting stung while they were sleeping, in a similar place on the heel of his palm. he thought there might be a spider somewhere near his bed but he turned his room upside down and couldn't find the damn thing.

Spoiler: Do not click this unless you really want to know. It is as bad as you imagine. • show
So at some point this 'bite' started getting really big and angry and red and infected so he went to the doctor. Turns out there was the beginnings of some sort of eggsack right under his skin. \0/

I want to move back to the region where if you can survive sub-zero weather you die.  Seems so much safer.

I had similar problems with frame rates.  There was a fix on steam that involved adjusting a number of the ini file settings that seemed to fix it for some.  I just had to turn off the smooth frame rate option and it worked like a charm.

But wow, this game is much tougher than the past ones.  I've never wiped in the tutorial missions before nor lost so many soldiers in just the first few missions even after switching to easy mod.

Sasmi, Specialist Class Medic build

And the thought of seeing that, just makes me want to play this game more now.

Looking good so far!

Woo! I'm looking forward to this one.  I so need to get a Poe Lego figure.

Another livestream, this time on the storytelling part:

There are spoilers for 1-9, and also teases for Chapter 10, so for the link HERE BE DRAGONS, but there's a nice, spoiler-free bit that's always important to keep in mind with game storytelling:

Storytelling in games has the unique of challenging of having players able to see and know the villain without placing players in the same room as them as they would be dispatched quickly by the player. You need to get the villains upclose to the players to be a significant presence in their life. It would be hard to imagine Star Wars Ep4 told from only Luke’s perspective. Vader would just be a random Tie Fighter pilot.
Glad to see them focusing on storytelling again.
